July 10th, 2007 - It's Official The wedding was a complete success! Despite complications from unruly weather during the outdoor ceremony the entire week was an amazing experience for both of us and as far as we could tell all in attendance as well. We have a TON of people we want to thank for their help but there are far too many to list here. For the time being let me just say that we sincerely appreciate each and every person who helped in any way, including those who were thinking of us on our special day even if they were unable to attend. Over the course of the next two weeks we have a lot to do as we prepare for the move but I promise we'll have several tidbits to share from our week in the mountains as soon as possible. If you took pictures during the week and you'd like to share them please drop us a line. It was great to see those who made it, and to those who couldn't you were certainly missed but we understand! Thanks again to all of you! We are truly blessed with the most wonderful friends and family a couple could ask for! June 4th, 2007 - We're Getting Closer Hello again! We have just over a month now until the wedding, and just under two months until we move to New Zealand. As of right now we plan to return to Little Rock after the wedding; packing and working for a couple of weeks before we head out. For those of you in and around Missouri we'll be staying in Rogersville with Jay's parents for a few days, one of which will feature a going away party before we head to Colorado to stay with Vanessa's parents for a few days as well. We'll post exact dates ASAP. After that we're off to the south pacific where we plan to make a 3-4 day stop in Fiji before heading to Auckland. Our first two weeks will be spent training (Vanessa) and hunting for a new home (Jay).During this transitional period expect to see some changes here on our website. We're hoping to keep travel journals for those of you interested in following us on our big adventure. March 18th, 2007 - New Zealand Bound It's been three months since our last update, but it was three months well spent let me tell ya! Some of you may not know this but prior to Vanessa and I meeting one another we had both dreamed individually of visiting New Zealand some day. What initially sparked our interests is hard to say but the daunting beauty of the country itself, with it's diverse and adventurous landscape, was certainly a factor for both of us. Last spring, as we were in the process of moving to Little Rock, we suspected our stay here would be short lived. As such, we made tentative plans to explore the possibility of doing something outrageous. What if instead of merely visiting New Zealand we moved there to work for a couple of years? Now would be the opportune time right? Explore the possibility we did, and sure enough that possibility is now our reality. As of a couple weeks ago Vanessa has excepted a two year contract position in Wellington, New Zealand (pictured above). In other words folks, big things are about to happen! January 13th, 2007 Happy New Year everyone! You'll have to pardon us for the lack of updates over the last few months. We've been spending more time planning the actual wedding than posting updates as of late. The good news, however, is that planning is coming along nicely and things are looking fantastic! As you can see we've updated the image above with a more recent picture of the park entrace; one that we're actually in. The rock is much bigger in person than I originally imagined.
